How NocoBase works
NocoBase separates the data model from the user interface that staff work with. Administrators connect or define data sources, then assemble pages from blocks, forms, tables, actions, and display rules. Roles and permissions decide which users may see or change each part of the resulting internal application.
Workflows add event-driven business logic, while the plugin manager enables or removes capability modules. This architecture makes the product flexible, but it also means two installations can differ substantially. A feature shown in documentation may belong to a specific plugin or edition rather than the core image in the catalogue.
Key NocoBase features
The UI builder creates data views and forms without requiring a separate front-end project. Data-source tools connect internal or external datasets, and users or roles control access. Workflows can react to records and actions, while variables and secrets centralise reusable configuration.
NocoBase documents community and commercial plugins, along with functionality whose availability varies by edition. Airtable is a provider-managed collaborative platform combining tables, interfaces, automations, forms, reporting, integrations, and commercial administration under an Airtable account.
Airtable may suit teams that want vendor-operated infrastructure, polished collaboration, and maintained integrations without running the platform. NocoBase is compelling when the organisation wants a configurable application layer under its own domain and is prepared to evaluate plugins, editions, database growth, and upgrade compatibility.
Who uses NocoBase
Operations teams can build inventory, request, approval, case, project, or reference systems around structured data. Product groups may prototype an internal control panel, while developers extend the platform with plugins when the visual builder does not cover a required workflow.
The product is not a substitute for requirements analysis. A poorly designed data model, broad permissions, or an untested workflow can create operational risk even when the interface looks complete. Start with a narrow process, document ownership, and test exports and recovery before expanding to critical records.

Demand depends on users, data sources, records, pages, blocks, forms, workflows, plugins, file uploads, API requests, and concurrent actions. PostgreSQL holds the application’s primary records and configuration. The database is included but unmanaged, and its memory is outside the 2048 MB application figure supplied by the catalogue.
AvaHost maps NocoBase to Plan 3 at €10 after applying the database-memory rule. The NocoBase service includes one-click provisioning, custom-domain HTTPS, automatic application updates, and scheduled backups. Application email is disabled, so mail notifications, invitations, verification, and recovery do not work. Commercial plugins, AI providers, SMS services, and other third-party capabilities are not bundled with the plan.

Choose the final address before configuring callbacks, external data sources, authentication providers, or API clients. Following a change, test administrator sign-in, roles, forms, file uploads, workflow triggers, integrations, and any stored URL that may refer to the earlier hostname.
The plan includes the catalogue application and PostgreSQL stack, not every plugin, commercial entitlement, AI service, SMS provider, or external data platform shown in broader NocoBase documentation. Plugin availability varies by edition and release.
