How Slash works
Slash creates human-readable shortcuts that redirect visitors to longer destination URLs. Users can name, tag, edit, and organise shortcuts, choose suitable visibility, and group related entries into collections. A browser extension can make selected shortcuts quicker to open, while analytics show traffic and referral information for published links.
Collections provide a shareable page for several shortcuts instead of one redirect. This makes Slash useful as both a compact link manager and a controlled hub for frequently used resources. The application does not copy or validate the destination content; a shortcut remains dependent on the target URL, its permissions, and its availability.
Key Slash features
Team sharing and visibility settings require deliberate administration. Public shortcuts and collections can be opened by visitors who know the address, while restricted content depends on application access controls. Link analytics describe visits to Slash routes but do not replace privacy review or analytics performed by the destination service.
The catalogue template provides the Slash image without a separate PostgreSQL or MariaDB service. Application email is disabled, so email-dependent invitations, recovery, or notifications cannot be assumed. Account creation, team membership, and link governance must use the controls available inside the deployed application.

Individuals can also keep a personal set of shortcuts that works across browsers without depending on bookmark synchronisation.
Slash is not a content archive, malware scanner, identity provider, or availability monitor for destination sites. Sensitive links should still use destination-side authentication, and administrators should remove stale shortcuts when ownership or permissions change.

Resource use grows with shortcut count, collection size, redirect traffic, analytics history, administrator activity, browser-extension use, and concurrent visitors. Its entry recommendation therefore reflects shortcut traffic and local application activity rather than a separate relational service.
On AvaHost, Slash uses Plan 1 at €2. The hosted Slash package includes one-click deployment, a custom domain with automated HTTPS, automatic application updates, and scheduled backups. Application email is disabled, and no external identity, content scanning, link safety, destination monitoring, or browser-extension support service is bundled. Administrators should manage users directly, verify destinations, choose visibility carefully, and remove links that expose outdated or unauthorised resources.

Slash supports visibility and sharing controls for shortcuts and collections. Review each item before distributing its address, and remember that destination systems must enforce their own permissions. A short link can make a URL easier to remember, but it does not add access control to a document or dashboard that is otherwise public.
AvaHost application email is disabled, so Slash workflows that depend on outbound messages cannot send from this deployment. Create and manage users through the available in-application controls, retain administrator credentials, and do not rely on email as the only recovery path. External identity-provider configuration is not included with the app plan.
Slash receives automatic application updates plus scheduled backups on AvaHost. After a substantial release, verify sign-in, important shortcuts, collections, visibility settings, analytics, and several redirect destinations. The backup covers the app installation, not the external content reached through each link, so target systems need their own protection.
