How LinkStack works

LinkStack lets an administrator create link pages made from profile information, styled buttons, dividers, headings, social icons, and other supported link elements. Themes and appearance controls shape the public page, while click statistics help the page owner understand which destinations visitors select. Multiple accounts can maintain separate profiles within one installation.

Visitors open a public profile address and follow the published destinations without needing a LinkStack account. Editors sign in to manage their own page, order elements, change visibility, and review available statistics. The public page remains a routing surface rather than a replacement for the websites, stores, donation systems, or social networks linked from it.

Key LinkStack features

LinkStack is designed for branded profile pages rather than general website building. It provides a focused layout for links and profile content, with themes and configurable elements that avoid the complexity of a full content-management system. Destination availability, tracking performed by linked sites, and the accuracy of third-party URLs remain outside the application.

The upstream project supports multiple users, analytics, customisation, and email-related features. the hosting service application email is disabled, so hosted LinkStack pages should not rely on outbound messages for account recovery, invitations, or notifications. Administrators must retain working credentials and manage access directly inside the application.

LinkStack vs Linktree

LinkStack hosts profile pages and account data on the selected server, giving the operator control over the domain, installation, themes, and user administration. Linktree is a hosted link-in-bio service that combines profile links with analytics, digital products, social tools, integrations, and plan-based design controls inside a provider-managed account.

Linktree may fit creators who want a maintained commercial service, built-in monetisation features, social scheduling, advanced analytics, and fewer operational responsibilities. LinkStack is better suited to people who prioritise their own domain and installation, accept responsibility for administration, and need a straightforward link page rather than a wider creator-business platform.

Who uses LinkStack

Independent creators use LinkStack to collect social channels, current projects, shops, and sponsorship links. Agencies can provide distinct pages for clients, while clubs and non-profits can publish contact points, campaigns, event links, and donation destinations from a memorable address.

The platform is less suitable for organisations needing a full website, customer database, email-marketing system, shopping checkout, appointment service, or dependable analytics attribution. Those functions remain with the linked services and should be assessed separately.

Self-hosting LinkStack: requirements and cost

Resource use is driven by profile count, link elements, themes, stored assets, statistics, administrator activity, and public page traffic. For LinkStack, the catalogue lists PostgreSQL and MariaDB as Not required. The application may retain internal data, but this template does not provision a separate relational service.

On AvaHost, LinkStack uses Plan 1 at €2. The hosted LinkStack package includes one-click deployment, a custom domain with automated HTTPS, automatic application updates, and scheduled backups. Application email is disabled, so outbound recovery and notification workflows are not available. External commerce, mailing, social, donation, scheduling, and analytics providers are not included. Keep administrator credentials secure, verify every destination, and review public-page content before promoting the final domain.

F.A.Q

  • LinkStack starts at €2 on Plan 1. The entry plan suits a modest set of profile pages with ordinary public traffic and light analytics. User count, uploaded assets, theme complexity, click history, administrator activity, and visitor volume are the main reasons to review resource use as the installation grows.

  • A custom domain can point to the hosted LinkStack page, and automated HTTPS protects visitor and administrator traffic. Update social profiles, QR codes, printed material, and campaign links only after the final address works correctly. The certificate secures transport but does not verify or monitor the external destinations published on each profile.

  • AvaHost application email is disabled across hosted services. LinkStack features that depend on outbound messages, including recovery or invitation workflows where applicable, cannot send from this deployment. Administrators should retain working credentials, create users through the available in-application controls, and avoid depending on email as the only route back into an account.

  • LinkStack receives automatic application updates and scheduled hosting backups from AvaHost. After a substantial upstream change, verify administrator sign-in, public profiles, themes, page elements, statistics, and several important destination links. Keep a separate record of critical profile content and account ownership for operational continuity.
